How to get to Asterix Park from Paris.
Surely each of us knows that Disneyland is one of the main and most popular attractions in Paris. But this is not the only amusement park in France, which is loved by both adults and children. Asterix Park is a family-owned amusement park, opened in 1989. It is easy to guess in honor of whom this park got its name. Asterix and Obelix are the heroes of the popular French comic book also known to us for its film adaptation. What is noteworthy, Asterix Park is much more popular with the native French than with tourists. It is open only in the warm season, namely from April to September.
The park itself is divided into 7 thematic zones: Gaul, Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Egypt, the land of the Vikings and, finally, “Time Travel”. Each of them has unique attractions, restaurants (some offer a buffet) and other entertainment, decorated in accordance with the theme. Asterix Park has attractions for its youngest visitors as well as for extreme lovers. Children will really enjoy spending time on “calm” theme rides and small slides and carousels. But five colorful performances, in one of which dolphins are involved, will bring them real delight. Lovers of adrenaline are waiting for several roller coasters with dead loops, where the speed reaches 90 km/h, as well as rotating boats and large carousels on chains. The whole family can ride a discus thrower, which periodically falls into the water, cheer up on different slides or ride a classic fair carousel.
Asterix Park is located 35 km north of Paris in Playa. Most often, tourists overcome this distance in one of the following ways.
Bus. A special bus runs from the Louvre daily from 9:00. You must enter the parking lot from the side of Rivoli street (Carrousel store) and go down the long passage to find this bus. Travel time takes about one and a half hours. The fare is 20 euros for adults and 16 euros for children from 3 to 11 years. Another option suitable for summer is to take a bus from the Eiffel Tower. Departure time to the park is 12:30, and back – 19:00.
The train. Asterix Park can be reached by the RER line B commuter train, from Paris Gare du Nord to Charles de Gaulle Airport, terminals 1 and 3. There is a ticket office right behind the turnstiles where you can buy a bus ticket to the park (9 euro for adults and 8 euros for children from 3 to 12 years old) and an entrance ticket to the park. Buses from the airport to the park run every half an hour, and it is better to check the time of departure of the last bus from the park on the spot.
